GraphicsGale is an inexpensive, easy-to-use raster graphics editor for spriting, pixel art, and animations. It can animate images, create and edit custom icons and cursors for Windows, and batch-convert files. Its Onion Skin feature lets you view sequential animated frames in place. The separate GaleBrowser manages files.
You can also use GraphicsGale to draw and paint like other graphics tools-it offers layers, effects, TWAIN acquisition, and more-but its primary focus is for producinganimated graphics for games and similar applications. GraphicsGale works in any edition of Windows likely to be running, from 98 to 8, though obviously newer systems will better handle resource-intensive processes like creating animations. The program is free to try, and only costs $20.77, which is less than comparable tools. GraphicsGale's user interface screams 'graphics editor' on first glance, and there's nothing wrong with that-that's what the program does. Layout features include includes free-floating Preview, Frames, Palette, Loupe (magnifier), and Layer windows. The Help file includes a Tutorial section that explains each tool and feature and simple processes such as creating animated GIFs; the program's Web site adds more tutorials, such as how to create transparent GIF or PNG files. I started by creating simple animated GIFs using several sets of files, including a series of existing GIFs and a JPEG sequence that was converted to GIFs using GraphicsGale's batch convert feature.
I could drag frames into order (or into the trash) and edit each frame, individually. I also tested out GraphicsGale for drawing and image editing. Creating images pixel by pixel can be very tedious-GraphicsGale simplified the process and results were impressive, considering the applied skills. GraphicsGale strikes a good balance between an intuitive process that you can learn by clicking a few buttons and more complicated tools that do everything but require night classes to learn how to use them. It simplifies detail-intensive processes, but new users are strongly recommended to start with the tutorial to make the application even simpler. For Web and app graphics, it's a top pick. Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of GraphicsGale 1.93.22.
From GraphicsGale is software for editing raster format image. You can retouch a photo, paint a picture. It allows you to edit and create animations and other types of graphics seeing its preview in real-time.

Creating a Palette Graphics Gale Tutorial By: Holder Graphics Gale can be found and the best thing it's free. Introduction For all those spriters and members out there that would like to be a spriter, getting your custom palette sorted is something that will help you keep your style no matter how many times you create something. This is something I've learned only recently how to do so I figured it's best shared. It'll not make you an instant spriter but it'll help your learning curve. What's a Palette In simple terms a Palette is a collection of colours that you most use or rather all the colours you'll ever use, so it's something that you may not get right the first time but keep at it.
There's a range of ways that you can use your Palette but we'll start with what you get when you first start Graphics Gale. The Default Palette It's a good starting block but once you start to get used to spriting different characters/battlers/tilesets you'll soon find yourself tinkering with the RGB values to alter the colour you're using. Personally I found these colours to be far to bright and saturated. Setting up your new Palette Create a new image (FileNew) and you'll see this box. Create the image with the sizes shown and also make sure it's set on 8bit(256Colours) You should notice that your default Palette has changed, it shows only basic colours that you may find in paint. This is your starting block of creating your very own Palette.
To alter the colours simply left click on a block within the Palette and alter the RGB values, don't worry about having to go back and alter the colour later on or if you notice you've made a mistake as the highlighted colour will change on the image aswel as the Palette. Saving your Palette Yes it would be pointless in doing this if you couldn't save it and use it again or work on filling in more blocks. So just under the Current Palette blocks and to the left of the Brush Style click the drop down button and select 'Save Palette.' Call it something relevant so you know what kind it is (Something like CharacterSet.pal) Palette Types Here's a thing that could save you some time once you've got it set up.
Cmud pro 3 34 keygen mac. Create yourself some Types, say for example you've got alot of one colour variation on one Palette and you only use two or three on one image. Save them separately and merge the Palettes together. Here's how to do that Once you've got your palettes of colour saved when you come to 'Load Palette.'
Click and drag the new blocks you'd like onto the current Palette and click OK. Extract to a Palette If you've already got an image with 256 colours or less that you'd like to have a Palette made from it then this is also possible, the results may need tampering with but you'll get what you've asked for.
Take this image: Now you should see by opening this image your Palette hasn't changed, if you look at the top of the image you'll see 256x223x24. Now hopefully you should know what the first to sets of numbers are (Horizontal and Vertical dimensions) the last number 24 is the colour depth. That's what we need to change to get the palette for this image, so go to 'All FramesColor Depth.' Select it to 8bpp(256Colors) and click OK.
There your Palette would now contain only the colours used within the image. Though it may be jumbled but Graphics Gale reads colours from the left to right, top to bottom so a little tip is to save that Palette and open up a new image like this But this time keep it to 24bit(FullColor). Once opened you'll then have to 'Load Palette.'
And Select to transfer 'All' then press 'OK' to confirm. Then it's a case of organising your new Palette onto this image in a 3x3 pixel block style till you've got it set up how you'd like it. Tip for doing it this way, collect all the colours you have at the bottom of the image. Use the Rectangular Selection tool when you want to move one about, this way prevents you from forgetting to use a colour. Once done don't forget to 'Save Palette.' And please name it something you'll be able to figure out what it is.
Ehhhh i guess this is a neat technical tutorial for GG users dude, but ultimately it falls short on what most people really need to understand about creating palettes for pixel art. You don't really talk about color theory or ramps or saturation or warmth or how and why to choose colors or any of that.
If the goal was just 'this is how to do it in graphicsgale' then congrats man i can't say that you did anything wrong. But im saying that the best tutorials are the ones that explain the tough stuff: the how and the why, not just the 'how to'.
Thanks ChinWizard, it's been a while since I've done any more tutorials. I might try to make time to do more soon. Noise yeah this comes from myself having the same problem so I thought I'd share the process of 'how to' for others that have their main colours of use in a separate image.
I tend to blabber on a bit too much when it comes to all the things you've mentioned and I kinda wanted to keep this short and to the point. Shite sorry I didn't realise that there was more replies here I suppose it would help if I posted my pixel work a bit more then possibly that leads people to be interested in how I do things. Cheers for the feedback everyone, it's certainly been noted and I'll see what I can do about getting more done.
Painting transparency? Adjusting the size of a painting tool to pixels?
I'm new to tools like Photoshop. The title says it all - that's what I'd like to know how to do. I have some old sprites that I'm using for a project, and the sprites are bitmaps (bmp format), 16x16 pixels, with two colors - white for the symbol, and black for everything else.
What I'd like to achieve is making the black pixels transparent. I also encountered an oddity (as a newbie) - the paint tools' radius is too large for editing individual pixels when zoomed in at 3200%. What is the best method to adjust the radius to 1 pixel? Also, these image files are intended to be sprites for a simple game project. Is bmp the best file format?
Are there others, such as png or jpg recommended? Thanks, crichmon. Use the pencil tool instead of the brush tool, and right-mouse click on the canvas to set the size to 1px if required.
Png is nowadays the best format for this type of graphic, but the bitdepth depends on the what the developer requires. 32bit png (24bit+8bit transparency) is always safest. In your case 8bit png with 1bit transparency is fine. To convert those black pixels to transparent ones in the png file, add a layer mask, and paint with black to mask out those pixels. Then save for web, png 8bit, and those black pixels will be hidden. Btw, if you intend to create a lot of pixel art, working with such small graphics (16x16) you may want to switch to an art program dedicated to pixel graphics, such as graphicsgale. They make the creation of pixelart arguably easier and more comfortable.
Well, it depends. One issue with the current versions of Photoshop (CS6 and CC) is that they only zoom in to 3200% - which may be insufficient when you are working on a higher resolution larger screen. I work on 27' @2560x1440, and the 3200% is not quite enough. You need at least 6400% zoom to work comfortably with pixeling at times (at least, I do). Some additional details.I usually have 2 or 3 files open while I work that are not set in tabs. They are bascially open side by side. I turn off tabs so I can see all 3 files at once. The brush tool flickers UNLESS I click the file's window title bar.
When I paint I hold alt/option for the eyedropper to grab a color from my other open file then continue painting on my active working file. I found this is when the cursor flickers until I click the title bar even though it is already the active file/window. So pshop CS6 is confused that I have open files not in tabs. The tool's cursor only flickers when in motion. The flicker also goes away if I seat the files in tabs.CS4 never had this problem (I skipped cs5/5.5 so do not know if it happened in that release).update. I'm testing working with 3 tabs open side x side rather than 3 floating windows - will reply with outcome after some time working.
I'm still learning to use the Pen tool, in the meantime, I'm drawing artwork with the Pencil and Paintbrush.1. After mastering the Pen tool, are there reasons to still use the Pencil or the Paintbrush?2. I drew two shapes once with the Pencil and once with the Paintbrush. It seems like after drawing with both tools, that I have access to the same options in the Control Panel for chaning the stroke size, variable width profile, and brush definition, essentially making the end result from the two different tools the same. What are the main differences or reasons to use the Pencil vs. The Paintbrush?Thank you. They all create paths that when viewed in outline view look the same.
The pen and pencil tools are two different ways to create the same thing. With the pen you manually put the points and control the shape of the curves with handles. With the pencil you draw like using a real life pencil and based on your movements and speed Illustrator adds the points automatically and creates the shape of the curves according to parameters that you can set in the options of the tool. You can start creating a path with one tool and continue drawing or editing the path with the other tool. Also the Smooth and Path Eraser tools under the Pencil group in the tool box are basically the pencil tool in special mode. The brush tool functions and is basically the same like the pencil but the only difference that makes it unique is that it can react to pressure sensitivity input which creates variable width of the stroke and is built into the path. This pressure sensitivity appearance cannot be edited or reused on other paths.
You can apply a brush appearance to any path being drawn with any tool even during its creation by clicking a brush in the brushes panels. This doesnt change the current tool but applies the brush appearance to the path. Another way to create variable width stroke is using the Width tool which can be used on paths without pressure sensitive input. The appearance created with the Width tool can be edited and reused on other paths using the Profile menu in the Stroke panel. You can remove the variable width and pressure sensitive brush appearance from paths as you have already found out by playing around.Just experiment, play around and you will discover what tool is most suitable for certain tasks. I use all of them depending on the job.
But naturally the pen and brush tools are best used when using digital pen. I dont think I would ever use these tools if I have to use the mouse. I is like in real life trying to draw by pushing and dragging a brick. Hi all,I am doing an animation of a room assembly and decor, part of the animation needs to show a wall being painted with a paintbrush, in a solid colour, (Can't use a roller) I would like this to look as realistic as possible, Originally I though of just changing the material over time, now however I want to introduce a paintbrush and show in moving on the wall, (no need to show it dipping into the paint tin) and whereever the brush goes the color changes behind it.
Any ideas as the best way to achieve this effect? Thanks,Tom. Hi (banhien), I use Firefox / Hotmail. Clicking the link View the reply to arrive at the Support Forum page (containing your answer), then viewing thebrowser's Print preview menu and shrinking to paper sizeand additonal printing immediately gave a correct, proper result. So did printing the original post message (Hot)mail (containing the View the reply link), but only by clicking on the print symbol in Hotmail's task bar. However, printing this same (Hot)mail via the browser's Print preview menu still gave an enlarged image, despite the above mentioned shrinking to paper size! This is odd, but at least I can make prints with 'normal' sized text and images now.
Thanks so far for your suggestions, it was helpful. What was wrong with the code I gave? What are you trying to do differently?DrLaszloJamf your code provided transparency (with the Java Look and feel), but when the button was clicked the transparency was lost. I modified it so that transparency is allowed when the button is clicked.
But my solution stops the Jbutton from painting its Content Area. So it looks good for background images, but I need it to work well with background colors. That is, when the Jbutton is clicked, its background and the colors behind it should blend in the same way that it blends before the button is clicked. Also the Windows look and feel doesn't seem to allow any transparency (I'm beginning to believe). I miss the Paintbrush icon as seen in MS Word. Word's paintbrush is absolutely simple to use; although it may take 30 seconds to read the Help page to understand how to operate it. Pages '08 new icon additions seem to have been motivated by some users' demands for a similar Copy Paragraph Style icon.
An icon for Copy/Paste Character Styles would be equally useful. At the same time, the reason I chose a Mac back in 1985 was because I didn't want to use a bunch of complicated keystrokes just to accomplish what could be done with a simple click of the mouse. Now the GUI in Pages seems to be going in the direction of more keystrokes.
Has someone from MS been hiding in deep cover on the Pages development team, only to surface now, early in the 21st century? Does anyone know how to create an alpha channel using a BufferedImage? Or any other similar or more efficient technic that would allow me to do the following: I would like to create an alpha channel using a BufferedImage, so that each BLACK pixel would represent a fully opaque pixel and each WHITE pixel would represent a fully transparent pixel. Obviously, any (gray) pixel within this range would represent its appropriate transparency.
By painting an image, I could apply this alpha channel to control which part of the image is transparent and to which percentage. This would allow me to render an image where it is fully opaque on the left side and slowly fade out until it is fully transparent on the right side (gradient transparency).
Thanks, Jeach! Once I create an alpha channel, how do I edit it? I have tried selecting and clicking the alpha channel, and then using the paintbrush tool. I understand that if I have a white foreground, painting should remove some of the mask, while a black background should result in the painting adding to the mask. But often nothing seems to happen when I paint.
Or, at other times, the painting results in paint marks on my image but doesn't affect the 'marching ants' and therefore doesn't affect the mask. I have already checked that my K setting in Color is at 0 for white and 100 for black.
Using CS5 version 13.0 x64 with Windows 7. Apologies for the newbie question.
I must be missing something very obvious. I have googled this and not found anything helpful. (Perhaps I am searching on the wrong words.). An Alpha channel is a greyscale image. You can do whatever you want: paint on it, do a Levels adjustment, a gradient, a filter (Gaussian Blur for instance), etc.
But make sure you have no selection active on that channel as you cannot make any change outside the selection. Also make sure your brush is in Normal mode (or a mode that has effect on what you are painting, e.g. Not Overlay mode on white or black paint, although that mode is very useful for adjusting channels and masks but that's another story.) Once you are finished with working on that channel you can reload it as a selection of course. I originally thought this was an issue with my Cintiq 12WX or stylus when using pressure sensitive brush strokes, however I've just realized the problem also happens when using my mouse and non-pressure sensitive brush strokes!
Palette And Pub
It is hard to explain, but when I use the Paintbrush Tool to draw a line with a dramatic curve, the stroke seems to have an error, and 'cross over' the line, even when I do not have a FILL selected. If I expand the stroke, the problem doesn't go away, it just turns the problem stroke into a shape.
This has become debilitating to me. I really could use some help with this one! Here are some specs: Using a MBP iCore 7 with Illustrator CS5 (I just upgraded from CS3 and the problem occurred there too, not sure about CS4). Also using a Cintiq 12WX but realizing now that the problem is happening when I'm NOT using it.
I only noticed it when I hooked up the Cintiq because I didn't use the Paintbrush tool before using the Wacom. Paintbrush Tool Settings: Fidelity 0.5-2 px Smoothness 0.5-2% It does not seem to happen when I draw very large loops as shown in these next two images. Putting size in perspective, 'large' would be about a 3pt line in 2-3' loops.
The image above is a 3pt line, at 0.5px weight, and the cluster of loops measures about 0.75in x 0.5in (300ppi). I am having a problem getting PDFs to plot when I have plot transparency on. I use the dwg to pdf plot function and with plot transparency on. My hatches work perfectly but my PDFs appears very much screened.
(As a 50% or more screen would look) If I turn off the plot transparency, the pdf works perfectly but of course my hatch shades obliterate any line work beneath them. I was able to convert the PDF to a.tiff, with a graphics program. Increase the resolution to 600dpi and use imageattach to bring that in. But it is an extra step for each insert and increased dpi = increased file size.
Other than increasing the resolution on the PDF has anyone found a way around this 'screening' issue on PDFs when plotting with transparency on? Issue is the same in R2011 2012.
Hello, My question: is there any way to animate such text properties of the title like 'font size', 'fill type', 'color of the fill', animate gradient/transparency property of the fill? I searched for different video tutorials and title-maikng tutorials in the internet but without any luck. All I know about animating titles is moving/rotating, adding some animateable video effects, adjusting transparency of the whole title, but I have never heard about the possibility of changing text color in time. For example, in a first frame I want my text in a title to be white/solid fill, then in a frame 100 it got to be filled with a blue-to-red gradient, and then in a frame 200 I want again return to the solid fill with white color. Can I animate these text properties in Adobe Premiere? Thanks in advance! I really need to know it, if someone have good links with info about animating titles please post them.
Fokel, There will be some limitations, but you can Keyframe various aspects of your Title, Copy that (New From Existing, or similar syntax), then Keyframe the copy and make changes to it, as desired. Use a Transition between the two, or three,?
Programs/plug-ins like Bluff Titler, and ProDAD, probably do an easier job. As Josh points out, you can use Photoshop and do Layer Comps with the changes in place. Again, your choice of Transitions will go a long way to making it look smooth and fluid. After Effects can also do this, but its learning curve is a bit steep. Never really done this before so I'm going to take a guess. Cutout the skin in the normal and diffuse maps in a your chosen photo editor (Photoshop,Gimp, or whatever) and paste it into a two new texture files (one for the diffuse, one for normal).
Make sure the skin is in the same place as where you cut it out from. You should be left with a diffuse for clothing, a diffuse for skin, a normal for clothing, a normal for skin. Save them and keep the image size and transparency.
Now in unity go to your model and into mesh render in the inspector. Open the materials tab and change the size to 2. Import your textures, make sure alpha to transparency is checked as you import them. Make two materials one for the skin and one for the clothing. Choose the shader of transparency- bumped diffuse for both. Put the textures in the materials accordingly. Now simply drag the materials onto the model.
You can change the skin tone by adjusting the tint on the skin material. Again never did this before and doing this by only guessing. Never really done this before so I'm going to take a guess. If you have changed the mouse pointer settings, you may want to change them back to the standard settings, I have seen this cause similar issues to what you have described. Under Control Panel/Mouse/Pointers tab, change the mouse pointer scheme to 'none'. Try disabling all background running applications. Click START RUN type MSCONFIG press OK. Place a dot next to Selective startup and then remove the checks from Autoexec.bat and Config.sys. Next click the STARTUP tab and uncheck each item on the list (except for system tray), press OK and restart the system.
See if the issue returns. If it does not, then you can replace one check at a time, restarting the computer after each to test if it is the culprit. If after doing this you find that a program or device no longer works, you will need to start putting checks back in to boxes one at a time, restart the system and test the item that stopped working. This will allow you to find out which options you need to have running for your hardware and software setup. If none of this has helped, you may have to reload the operating system.
Does anybody have a routine for painting/match properties for Points? It would be nice to select a source point then select the other points that we would like to match that points display properties.
I want to be able to do the following using the paintbrush/match properties. Match the marker size and type. Match display properties that are showing (number, elev, desc) as well as colors and text size. Match the rotation.
Language
We currently click on the point and write down all of the information and then select the points we want to change and change them manually. It takes a while for something you think could be easy to program. I have searched high and low on the internet and within these forums so I understand there are known issues with transparency and flickering. I believe my issue is slightly unique and possibly solvable. There is a black rect which flashes on the screen as the form loads. The screenshot shows the black rect during load. It goes away a split second later.
My form is transparent has no controls (all are added at runtime and after initcomp) has initial size of 0,0 is maximized on load. Formborderstyle is none. When the form loads, I see that black rectangle in the top left of the page. Does anyone know what this rect is and/or why it appears?
I'm hoping it's some component (it has to be) of the form which I can prevent from painting. It almost looks like a minimized title bar state. The black rect appears regardless of initial size or maximizing. Thanks, tsfreaks. I use a wacom bamboo tablet and just upgraded to CS5. Heres my problem: So i select the blob brush and input my settings.say 3pt size - pressure - 3pt variation Now if i go to use the paintbrush tool and come back to the blob tool, suddenly the pressure does not work. Going back into the blob brush settings, everything is the same.
Yet now I need to change the point size to something else, change it back to the size I want, then it works again. Im not sure whats going on.Can anyone help? Hi, I have a JTextArea inside a JScrollPane and need this to fit into the remaining available area in a JFrame. When i construct the JTextArea in a JPanels constructor, i need to set the size of the JTextArea for the initial painting of it but cannot because i dont yet know the size of the remaining frame space. Is there some standard way of setting the JTextArea size to fill an area? This is for an about box, with a panel on the left containing an icon, and JTextArea on the right filling the remaining space (even if the frame is resized). Cheers, Steveybaby2.
I am using the FlowLayout. However, the problem is that I cannot calculate the size of the jframe and add the jtextarea in the paintComponent (which I override). This would seem logical, as then every time the window needs to be repainted or the frame is set to a different size, the space available can be recalculated and the jtextarea panel readded. If I do this however, even when repaint is used, it does not appear straight away (and anyway the frame at this point isn't constructed and so I cannot calculate the size of it to set the size of the jtextarea). When I maximise, I refreshes and repaints and I see it. And do you know whats happening with this repaint problem? Thanks, Steveybaby2.
Picture has shifted to the right so cannotclose or adjust size ofweb pages. Hi, If I understand. With no windows open except for 1 IE window, right-click on the Taskbar and select Cascade. That should make the entire window visible. The try this: Open a webpage.
Stretch it out to fullsize. Don't use maximize. Choose any link on that webpage and right-click open in a new window. Stretch that second window out to the desired size- don't use maximize. Close the first IE window.
Then close that second resized window. In XL2010, once you insert a picture and select it, a new 'Picture Tools format' tab appears.in the ADJUST section, select COLOR, and under the REcolor section choose the WASHOUT selection. This will WASHOUT a picture inserted into Excel.I dunno how well it will work ona CALENDAR selection, as these are birds of a different color.but if you are making your own calendar by overlaying Drawing Objects with transparent backgroundson it, it should work fine. VAya con Dios, Chuck, CABGx3.
I have a peculiar problem, I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this: Load up 2 different documents into Photoshop. Now select 'Window/Arrange/2-up Vertical'. The 2 documents should be showing on the screen, side-by-side. Zoom in to both documents, close enough so that the scrollbars appear at the bottom and sides of each document. Select the paintbrush tool, and just start randomly painting on the document which is on the right half of the screen. Now hold down ALT to choose a color, and keep the left button held down as well. WIth ALT and the left button still held down, move the cursor over into the document on the left side of the screen.
At this point, my document on the right hand side begins to scroll horizontally - and this is INCREDIBLY aggrivating!!! Does anyone else come across this? Thanks for checking it out for those who do.
I made this suggestion to somebody last week and they said it would make a good nugget, so here goes. When you're using the coloring tool (also known as the paintbrush tool) on the panel, you can select a color by right clicking and finding the right color in the color picker.
However, there's a much easier way to pick the color for something, if that color already happens to exist somewhere else on your panel (or the panel of any other open VI). While using the coloring tool, if you hold down the Ctrl key, you'll see that your paintbrush turns intoa little 'eye dropper' tool.around LabVIEW RD we call this the 'color sucker' because now, if you click anything with the eye dropper tool, it will copy the color of the object you clicked on to the paintbrush tool's color selector. Now, when you release the Ctrl key, your paintbrush tool will use the color that you just Ctrl-clicked as the painting color. It's quite a bit faster than right-clicking and using the color picker every time. Check out past nuggets here.
Darren Nattinger, CLALabVIEW Artisan and Nugget Penman. You can copy a color from the icon relatively easily onto the color picker's 'History' row.
In the icon editor, switch to the eye dropper tool, and click whatever color it is you want to copy from the icon. Then close the icon editor, go to the front panel, switch to your paintbrush tool, and right click. In the color picker, you'll see a 'History' row at the bottom, and whatever color you copied from the icon should be the last color listed in the History row.you can then select this color so your panel is the same color as whatever you copied from the icon.D Darren Nattinger, CLALabVIEW Artisan and Nugget Penman. Looks like your computer came with the switchable AMD graphics.
Does this sound right? If so you will need to open up the ATI Cataylst Control Center and look for a setting label 'Overscan.' This will adjust the porportating of the resolution on the TV. It should be in the Scaling options. Let me know if you have trouble finding it and I will try and get you some screen shots from my home computer. Thanks, Sean Edit:Looks like I found some steps online.
Try following the steps here: right click on the Desktop and chooseCatalyst(TM) Control Center from the upper left side corner, left click and chooseDesktops Displays find the display you want to configure and right click on its icon from the lower part of the window and chooseConfigure go to theScaling Optionstab and adjust the slider as you see fit (for me it's0%, so the image can fit the entire TV screen) and clickApply. Well, it looked like my video driver was in definite need of updating. This has fixed the problem. And thanks about the suggestions for resetting the tools.etc. That will come in handy, if the problem comes back or if another one surfaces.
Thanks to all. Are you embarassed to tell people you use elements?
I do some work for a stock site, and they laugh at me using a 'toy' like elements. But it does 90% of what a want. And elements 9 is way better than my version 7.
I'm glad i upgraded. (its about time they added a mask layer.without using a third party plugin). Ok, so The capabilities must be set every time you define something, not in one lump sum at the end like I was trying to do. Thanks to everyone in this thread for excellent guidelines. This thread is much helpful and solution here does work - just make sure you have all the listed fonts enabled. One additional tip - one may notice that Fonts app doesn't display disabled fonts (at least that was my case). I right-clicked a random font in the list and chose 'show in finder'. The finder window opened and I noticed folder 'fonts disabled' near 'fonts' folder (full path is '//volumename/Library/Fonts Disabled'.
I saw Times New Roman fonts in this 'Fonts Disabled' folder. I moved them to 'Fonts' folder and the issue had gone.Hope this brings additional clarity to resolution steps. Once again, great thread, thanks everyone! I use to play a TV channel while at work, for this I am using windows media player revert skin which is transparent, how can I apply the following changes to this skin: 1- Adjusting the transparency level.
2- Adjusting the video area size. 3- Removing the left side which showing the information. 4- Removing frame, menu and everything keep only the video area which displaying the channel If this skin can't be modified, would you please suggest me any other skin to download which will solve these problems. Your help will be appreciated.
I'm currently using Acrobat 7 Professional. I want to use the 'Batch' process to re-convert pdf documents that were watermarked using the batch process. We're talking 1000+ documents. The reason we need to re-convert them is because the watermarked documents are taking more than 4min/page to print, if it prints at all.
I've manually re-converted a few of the documents using 'print to pdf', kept the file size at 230kb and with no printing issues. However, since we have 1000s of these documents to do, most with multiple pages, this would be a very time consuming project.
I've 'Batched' 'print to pdf' and it also takes care of our printing issues, however, the file size has jumped to 5044kb. Having literally thousands of files to do - this is an issue on our file server. I've done multiple tests with adjusting the pdf settings in the batch process. Some work (and again the file size is large) - some don't allow for printing or slow it way down again. I understand that it's a 'layer' or 'transparency' thing that's slowing the printing process and when I mess with it in the batch process, it takes care of the printing issues but not the file size. Can someone help me please???
I've been working on this for a couple days now and I'm at my limits. How can I batch process that will flatten layers but give me a manageable file size?

How can I batch process that will flatten layers but give me a manageable file size? Your help would be GREATLY appreciated - Michelle. I'm trying to use illustrator to edit my graphics as I go. I really do prefer working with graphics as a vector vs. So far i'm not having much success in using illustrator in the same capacity as photoshop. (painting or erasing what I don't need, cropping excess, etc.
All basic stuff. ) is there a way to set up my illustrator to work like photoshop (regular paintbrush, not live paint, crop tool, etc.) or will I need to export the graphic, do my editing, and import back? Is there a way to keep from photoshop changing my vectors to pixels to preserve my images? And is there a way in either application to change my jpg's to vectors? Good morning, I having trouble adjusting the plot size when I start adding titles and footnotes to my output. The code below works just as expected, with the plot size being 9 inches wide by 6.5 in tall.
Adding a single title and footnote however reduces the plot size to 6.75 inches wide by 5 inches tall. The problem becomes much worse with the full set of titles and footnotes that I need for the ultimate graph, and by the time the legend is added the graph becomes very small. With all titles and footnotes the available page area is 4.25in height by 9in width. Using these values for DesignWidth and DesignHeight yields a graph that is 3.25in high by 5.75in wide and has 1.5in unused white space between the graph and the footnotes.
Is part of the page simply unavailable to be used? I haven't found a combination of BeginGraph or ODS Graphics options that solves the problem. Annotation doesn't seem to be an alternative, and the Note statement with its move=(x,y) option is not available for ods graphics. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a SAS 9.3 with 64-bit Windows installation. So, I just recently bought a drawing tablet to use while painting in Photoshop. It works perfectly for everything except when it comes to Photoshop. The program knows that I want to paint with the paintbrush tool, it repsonds, and it even recognizes the pressure I put on the tablet, but it doesn't do it in sync with the cursor.Whenever I use the paintbrush tool, the 'paint' doesn't come out of the cursor, but up and to the left of it. For example, If I were to try and put a single dot in the middle of the page using the paintbrush tool, I would move the cursor in the direct middle, press down, and the dot would appear towards the top left of where I touched.

I am mostly sure that this is NOT a problem with my tablet because I already updated the driver and I tested it out on every other program. The only time the problem occurred was when I went to Photoshop CC and used the paintbrush tool.every other tool in perfectly in sync with the cursor. Something that I noticed about the program, however, is that whenever I am not in the Photoshop window, the cursor is in the normal place that I am holding it, but right once I click on my Photoshop window, it moves the cursor down and to the right.
I am not sure if this is a problem with the brush settings or something of that matter, but I know that it has nothing to do with my computer or my tablet. Tablet is a Huion (cheap, I know.but I'm a poor college student) Photoshop CC is the latest version, and I already tried reinstalling it with no solution. I would be highly grateful for some help. Are you expecting this to appear on the published page?
In DW, I cannot reproduce your observation - adjusting the transparency slider changes the transparency of the tracing image. When I select an image to use as a Trace Image in Page Properties, it only appears fully opaque and adjusting the Transparency selector has no effect. I tried using jpg, png, and gif files. 1.To make a button shake Select InsertNew Symbol in that window Give some symbol name you want and select Button option and then click 'OK'.
Now you can see a blank frame with 'Up', 'Over','Hit' and 'Down' frames. Draw a shape you want in 'UP' frame and copy the same frame in all other frames and make each frame as a key frame. In each frame move the symbol from it's original position to up, down, left right position to make shake effect while clicking. After finishing this, go to scene 1 and place that symbol in you stage and test. 2.To make flickering effect. Insert new symbol following the above steps and choose the option movie clip.
In the first frame draw a shape with some gradiant fill color. Copy the same frame upto some 10 frames. Make each one of them as a key frame. Then open the Color Swatcher and Mixer window and select Color Mixer. Select the first frame and the shape then select alpha value in Color mixer. Select desired alpha value for each frame to make flickering effect. I have a.png file (created in Illustrator) that I want to use as a watermark in Compressor.
The dimensions of the.png match those of the source video, so there should be no need to re-size or re-position. But the.png file is not showing in Compressor's preview pane. I tried adjusting the position, scale and alpha of the.png - but it never shows up in the preview pane.
I also tried loading a.jpg file just to compare, and the.jpg DOES showing up in the preview pane. (But a.jpg doesn't have transparency, so I can't use it for my current purposes.)
